Arsenal’s predicted line-up against Fulham
Following the international break, Arsenal are set to resume their Premier League campaign with a trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham this afternoon.
By taking advantage of Liverpool’s recent slip-up, the Gunners have placed themselves at the top of the league. However, the gap between them and the Reds is just one point, so they can’t afford to think of anything but a win from this fixture.
On the other hand, the Cottagers have been inconsistent thus far this season, sitting in the bottom half of the table with eight points from seven games.
Team news
Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Noni Madueke have been out due to their injuries and aren’t in contention to feature today. Moreover, Martin Odegaard has sustained a knee problem and is expected to remain sidelined for a few weeks.
Ben White has been struggling with fitness issues in recent months, but he could be ready to be involved today. Moreover, Piero Hincapié is available once again after recovering from his groin injury.
Predicted line-up
Mikel Arteta is set to continue with David Raya in goal, and Kepa Arrizabalaga should be among the substitutes. In front of the Spaniard, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes would be the centre-back pairing, while Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori might be the two fullbacks for the North London club.
In that case, Cristhian Mosquera, Hincapié, and Myles Lewis-Skelly would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Martin Zubimendi is expected to be in the deep-lying playmaker position, and Declan Rice may commence alongside the former Real Sociedad star. Eberechi Eze could be deployed in the creative midfield position for Arsenal amid Odegaard’s absence. So, Christian Norgaard, Mikel Merino, and Ethan Nwaneri might be among the substitutes.
Bukayo Saka is likely to be on the right flank, having made four goal contributions in the last four consecutive games for club and country. Leandro Trossard may start on the opposite side, and Viktor Gyokeres should lead the line for the visitors today. Therefore, Gabriel Martinelli would feature off the bench.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Fulham
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Eze; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard
