Arsenal told the secret of winning the PL this season
Former forward turned pundit Paul Merson has said what Arsenal need to do to win the Premier League title this season.
Since becoming the manager back in 2019, Mikel Arteta has made the Gunners a Premier League title contender. However, they have been struggling to take the next step, finishing second in the last three consecutive campaigns.
So, the North London club splashed big money this summer to add depth in every department, aiming to help the Spanish boss win the Premier League title finally this season.
Arsenal displayed inconsistent performances at the beginning of this season, but have improved in recent weeks, sitting at the top of the table with a point lead over title rival Liverpool.
Now, on Sportskeeda, Merson says that Arsenal lost to West Ham United, Fulham, and Newcastle United last term but have already defeated the Hammers and the Magpies this season.
If they beat Fulham as well, they would earn nine points, which they missed last term, and it would be crucial in the title race. Therefore, should they beat the Cottagers, the league title will be theirs this season.

Moreover, the pundit claims that Arteta’s side have a squad depth in every department, which Liverpool don’t have. So, the Gunners should be able to challenge on all fronts.
Merson said:
“I actually think that if Arsenal win this game[vs Fulham], they will walk the league title! It’s an unbelievable squad and the depth is insane. Arsenal have two good players for every position on the pitch.
“When you compare it to Liverpool, if Virgil van Dijk gets injured, goodnight! Ryan Gravenberch injured? Goodnight! Even Mo Salah, again goodnight.”
Alongside the Premier League, Arsenal have also enjoyed a stellar start in the Champions League, winning the first two games.
Liverpool are considered Arsenal’s biggest rival in the Premier League this season. However, they have showcased vulnerability defensively thus far, losing the last three consecutive games in all competitions.
On the other hand, Manchester City are also considered one of the title challengers. But they have been displaying inconsistent performances, so Arsenal are currently the favourite to become the English champions this season.
