Arsenal plot swoop to sign Milan’s Strahinja Pavlovic

By on October 8, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic, as per Italian outlet Milan Live.

After moving to the San Siro Stadium from Red Bull Salzburg last year, the 24-year-old displayed average performances in his debut campaign in Serie A, making only 21 starts.

However, he has established himself as a key member in Massimiliano Allegri’s starting XI this campaign, scoring a solitary goal and keeping two clean sheets in six league appearances.

The Rossoneri are currently third in the league with 13 points and are only two points behind the table topper and reigning Italian champions Napoli.

Now, Milan Live report that Arsenal have expressed their interest in Pavlovic and have been monitoring his development closely before making a potential move next year.

The Serbian still has three years left in his current contract and Milan have slapped a £61m price tag on his head if they are forced to cash-in on him next year.

Pavlovic’s recent eye-catching displays haven’t just attracted the Gunners’ attention, as Chelsea and Barcelona are also considering making a move.

Pavlovic to Arsenal

The Milan star, standing at 6ft 4in tall, is a left-footed centre-back. He is strong, good in the air, can play out from the back, and is efficient in defensive contributions.

Therefore, he possesses the necessary attributes to flourish in the Premier League and might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal to add depth to the defensive department if they buy him.

However, Mikel Arteta already has Ben White, Jurrien Timber, Cristhian Mosquera, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Piero Hincapié as options for the backline.

So, Arsenal don’t need to spend more money to buy a new defender next year unless anyone leaves. Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually formalise their interest in signing Pavlovic next year.

Meanwhile, Arteta’s side have entered the international break off the back of a comfortable 2-0 victory over West Ham United in the Premier League last weekend. They will return to action with a visit to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in the league on 18th October.
