Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a double swoop to sign Sevilla star Lucien Agoume and Real Sociedad ace Takefusa Kubo, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Although Liverpool splashed the most money in the summer window, the Gunners had the highest net spend. They purchased eight new players to reinforce the squad and win the Premier League title after more than two decades.

The North London club revamped the midfield department by signing Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard after letting Thomas Partey and Jorginho leave for free.

On the other hand, they bolstered the right flank by signing Noni Madueke. Still, Fichajes state that Arsenal are interested in strengthening these two positions next year.

Agoume is on their radar for the engine room and are prepared to spend around £26m to secure his service with his existing deal set to run until 2028.

On the other hand, the Gunners have earmarked Kubo as a serious option for the right wing role and want to seal the deal for around £39m, although he has a £52m release clause in his current contract, which will run until 2029.

Therefore, Arsenal are ready to spend around £65m combined to buy the duo, and Kobo is even open to moving to the Premier League, having showcased glimpses of his potential in La Liga in recent times.

Kubo & Agoume to Arsenal

Although Arsenal have Zubimendi and Norgaard as the defensive midfielder options, the Dane has struggled with fitness problems in recent weeks. Moreover, he has already entered his 30s and has signed a short-term contract. Therefore, perhaps, Mikel Arteta’s side have started exploring options to replace him.

On the other hand, Bukayo Saka has been the undisputed starter on the right flank for Arsenal in recent years. But he has had a few injury problems in recent months.

So, the Emirates club decided to sign Madueke, but he has sustained a knee problem and is set to remain sidelined over the next two months. So, they are seemingly planning to go for a new right-winger next year.

It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to sign Agoume and Kubo to bolster the squad in January or next summer.
