Arsenal interested in signing Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi

By on September 16, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign LOSC Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi, as per a recent report.

The Gunners have decided to revamp their midfield department by signing Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard this summer, following the departures of Thomas Partey and Jorginho as free agents.

The Spaniard has even enjoyed a promising start to this season, scoring a brace against Nottingham Forest last weekend. However, Norgaard hasn’t been able to secure his place in the matchday squad in any of the first four games due to fitness problems.

The Dane is set to turn 32 next season and has signed a two-year contract at the Emirates Stadium. His primary job is to provide cover for Zubimendi, but it appears Mikel Arteta’s side have already started exploring options to replace the former Brentford star.

As per a recent report (via Fichajes), Arsenal are looking to reinforce the midfield department with a young talent and have registered their interest in Bouaddi.

Although the North London club haven’t made a formal approach yet, they have been monitoring his development closely before making a potential swoop in January or next summer.

Bouaddi to Arsenal

The 17-year-old, valued at around £24m by Transfermarkt, has entered the final two years of his current contract. So, Les Dogues might be open to letting him leave next year to make the most profit out of his departure.

Bouaddi joined Lille’s youth system back in 2021 before making his first team debut a couple of years later. Now, he has established himself as a key player for the French side this season, featuring in all four league games.

The Frenchman likes to be deployed in a double midfield pivot role and is a highly talented player. Therefore, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium next year.

Meanwhile, following a comfortable 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, Arsenal will kick off the Champions League campaign against Athletic Club on Tuesday evening.
