Arsenal attempted to sign Juventus star Kenan Yildiz

By on September 4, 2025

Arsenal reportedly made calls to sign Juventus star Kenan Yildiz this summer, as per Italian outlet Tutto Sport.

The 20-year-old joined the Bianconeri as a free agent back in 2022 before making his first team debut the following year. He has now established himself as an integral part of the Italian giants’ starting XI.

The Turkish international made 15 goal contributions across all competitions last term. Moreover, he scored three goals and registered one assist in four appearances in the Club World Cup. Yildiz has enjoyed a bright start to this season, providing two assists in Juventus’ 2-0 victory over Parma in the opening Serie A encounter.

Now, Tutto Sport claim that having been impressed by Yildiz’s performances last term, Arsenal were interested in him this summer and even made calls to secure his service.

Apart from the North London club, Chelsea also attempted to purchase him; however, Yildiz is a ‘priceless’ asset for Juventus, and they didn’t want to let him leave.

Although the forward still has four years left in his current contract, the Old Lady of Turin are ready to hand him a fresh contract to fend off potential suitors like the Gunners and Chelsea.

Yildiz to Arsenal

Yildiz, valued at around £43m by Transfermarkt, is a versatile forward as he is comfortable playing on the left flank and in the attacking midfield role. Moreover, he is comfortable with both feet.

Arsenal have decided to reinforce the frontline this summer to close the gap with Liverpool. Noni Madueke has been purchased to support Bukayo Saka, while Viktor Gyokeres has been signed to reinforce the centre-forward position.

Eventually, after missing out on Yildiz, Arsenal decided to reinforce the left side of the attack by signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. The Englishman is a similar type of player to the Juventus star, as he is also comfortable on the left flank and the CAM role.

In addition to the trio, Arsenal purchased Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Piero Hincapié. So, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club can eventually manage to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of this season.
