Arsenal have enjoyed a perfect start to this Premier League season, accumulating six points from two games without conceding a goal. Now, they will travel to Anfield to face off against title rival Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand, Liverpool have also won both of their games but have looked vulnerable defensively, leaking four goals. They gave up a two-goal lead against 10-man Newcastle United last time out before 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha bailed them out by scoring a stoppage-time winner.

Team news

The Gunners have suffered from several injury problems at this early stage of this season. Gabriel Jesus has already been sidelined since sustaining a serious knee problem last season. Moreover, Kai Havertz is set to be unavailable for several weeks, having undergone surgery for a knee injury.

Bukayo Saka picked up a hamstring problem against Leeds United last weekend; as a result, he is expected to remain sidelined for a few weeks. Martin Odegaard also sustained a shoulder problem versus the Peacock and was substituted before the interval.

Thankfully, his problem isn’t anything serious, but he is in doubt ahead of this very important game. Ben White started the opening Premier League game against Manchester United but was sidelined last weekend and is also in doubt versus Liverpool.

Christian Norgaard hasn’t been named in any of Arsenal’s two Premier League matches this season, and it remains to be seen whether he can recover in time for this encounter.

Predicted line-up

David Raya is expected to continue between the sticks, while William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes would be the centre-back pairing for the visitors. Jurrien Timber is set to continue after scoring a brace last weekend, and Riccardo Calafiori should be on the opposite side.

Declan Rice might be paired up with Martin Zubimendi in the engine room, and Mikel Merino could complete the midfield trio if Odegaard can’t recover in time.

Noni Madueke is likely to replace Saka on the right flank, while Eberechi Eze could make his debut and start on the left side ahead of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Viktor Gyokeres is guaranteed to continue in the centre-forward position for the Gunners, having scored two goals against Leeds.
