Arsenal set to miss out on Fluminense star Isaque Silva

By on August 27, 2025

Arsenal were recently linked with Fluminense midfielder Isaque Silva, according to reports from RTI Esporte.

The Gunners have long been known for finding young talents around the world and turning them into top players.

This transfer window has seen them continue that approach as they work on improving the squad for the future.

Gunners consider Brazilian talent

The report claims that Arsenal contacted Fluminense to ask about Silva’s availability during the final days of the summer transfer window.

Their interest in the player was said to be serious, as they explored the possibility of securing his signature.

However, it appears Arsenal are set to miss out as the midfielder is now closing in on a move to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

Both clubs have already started exchanging documents, which makes the transfer almost complete.

According to the same report, Arsenal’s proposal was higher than Shakhtar’s first offer, which stood at £10 million.

Despite this, negotiations did not progress for the Premier League club, and they are set to miss out on the deal.

Fluminense will receive a fixed transfer fee of about £8.62 million from Shakhtar.

They will also earn an extra £1.7 million in performance-based bonuses once the player completes his move.

Fluminense secure future benefit

The Brazilian club have also managed to retain 10 per cent of Silva’s economic rights. This means they will receive a share of any future transfer involving the player.

It underlines their belief that his value could rise further as he develops in Europe.

While Arsenal will not be signing Silva, they remain active in the market for promising players.

The club has already agreed a deal for Victor Ozhianvuna from Shamrock Rovers, which reflects their determination to secure young talents for the future.

Missing out on Silva will push Arsenal to focus on other targets in the coming weeks.

Their recruitment strategy remains clear: invest in players who can develop under Mikel Arteta’s guidance and become important figures in the long term.

Arsenal see this approach as both a footballing and financial advantage.

Building a squad with emerging stars gives them the chance to stay competitive while planning for future success.
