Arsenal remain keen on signing Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze

By on August 13, 2025

Arsenal reportedly remain keen on signing Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze, as per transfer journalist Charles Watts.

The Gunners have spent big money in this window and have brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga to support David Raya. Cristhian Mosquera has also been purchased to add depth in the CB position.

Furthermore, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard have been signed following Thomas Partey and Jorginho’s departure as free agents. Noni Madueke, on the other hand, has joined to support Bukayo Saka, and Viktor Gyokeres has been bought to reinforce the centre-forward position.

However, it has been reported that Mikel Arteta wants another attacking player before the end of this transfer window, and Eze has been suggested as a serious option.

Tottenham have accelerated their efforts to sign him following James Maddison’s serious knee injury, while the player is open to playing under Thomas Frank.

However, on Caught Offside, Watts claims that Arsenal remain keen on signing Eze and are hoping to seal a deal later in the window. Following Ethan Nwaneri’s decision to sign an extension, they are focusing on selling fringe players before making a move to add more new faces.

So, Tottenham are looking to take advantage of that and seal the deal quickly to trump their arch-rival in this race.

Eze to Arsenal

Eze is a versatile forward as he is comfortable playing in the CAM role and on the left flank. He has flourished in his career as a left No.10 in Oliver Glasner’s 3-4-2-1 formation.

Crystal Palace never won a major silverware before Eze guided them to win the FA Cup and Community Shield in quick succession. Moreover, he has proven his worth in the Premier League in recent years.

The 27-year-old is currently at the prime stage of his career, and this is the right time for him to take the next step. Therefore, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually manage to secure his service by defeating their arch-rival in this race. But Spurs are seemingly the favourites to get the deal done at this stage.
