Arsenal interested in signing PSG star Lee Kang-in

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain star Lee Kang-in, as per Football London.

After being impressed by the 24-year-old’s performances in La Liga with Mallorca, Les Parisiens decided to buy him a couple of years ago. However, he has struggled to break into Luis Enrique’s starting line-up.

The South Korean only started 23 games in Ligue 1 and the Champions League last campaign, making 13 goal contributions across all competitions. But he won the quadruple.

Therefore, speculation surrounding his future has been emerging in this window, and Football London report that Arsenal are interested in signing him to add depth to their squad.

The 24-year-old is valued at around £22m by Transfermarkt and still has three years left in his current contract at Parc des Princes. Therefore, they are in a strong position to demand a sizable amount of money to let him leave.

Lee is a left-footed versatile player as he is comfortable playing in the CAM role and on the right flank. Additionally, he can provide cover in a box-to-box role in midfield three. He is technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, is efficient in playing threading passes between the lines, and also works hard without possession.

Lee to Arsenal

After finishing second in the last three consecutive Premier League campaigns, the Gunners have been very busy reinforcing the squad this summer to finally become English champions next term.

They have already purchased Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, and Viktor Gyokeres by spending around £200m.

Moreover, Mikel Arteta is said to be willing to sign a new left-winger and a No.10 to create competition for Martin Odegaard. Lee is a talented player and possesses the necessary attributes to flourish in the Spanish boss’s system.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service before the end of this transfer window.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have had a mixed pre-season thus far, winning one and losing one of their three games. They still have two more friendly games left before the Premier League’s opening encounter against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 17th August.
