Arsenal want to sign Anthony Gordon alongside Eze

By on August 1, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly planning to sign Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon alongside Eberechi Eze, as per Football London.

The Gunners have established themselves as one of the title contenders under Mikel Arteta’s guidance. However, they have been struggling to take the final step and win the Premier League trophy.

They finished second in the last three consecutive campaigns, and the club’s hierarchy have handed money to the Spanish boss this summer to add the necessary reinforcements to become English champions.

The North London club have already invested around £200m on Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, and Kepa Arrizabalaga in this transfer window.

However, Football London report that Arsenal haven’t been satisfied with their summer business just yet as they still want to reinforce two key positions.

One is the attacking midfield position, and the other is the left flank. They have identified Eze of Crystal Palace as an option for the CAM role, and although he can be deployed in the left wing role, they want a natural left-sided forward.

Gordon to Arsenal

Rodrygo Goes of Real Madrid and Gordon are the two options Arsenal admirer, but either of them would be too expensive. So, to make room for a new left winger like Gordon, the club would likely have to part ways with either Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard

Trossard has been linked with a move away, and he is considering all options before deciding his future as his existing deal is set to expire at the end of next season.

Gordon is valued at around £56m by Transfermarkt and has a long-term contract with the Magpies, having recently signed an extension. Therefore, Newcastle are in no rush to cash-in on him, and considering they might be forced to sell Alexander Isak this summer, Eddie Howe’s side would be desperate to keep hold of him.

Meaning, Arsenal will have to offer an unrefusable proposal to persuade the Tyneside club to let him leave should they eventually make a concrete approach.

Gordon has proven his worth in the Premier League and would be a great acquisition for Arsenal. If they manage to sign him, it would significantly strengthen their chances of winning the league title.
