Arsenal ‘pushing’ hard to sign Eberechi Eze
Arsenal are reportedly ‘pushing’ hard to sign Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.
The 27-year-old moved to Selhurst Park from Queens Park Rangers back in 2020. In the first couple of seasons, he struggled to showcase his qualities in the Premier League, but displayed glimpses of his rich potential in the following two campaigns.
The forward took his game to a new level last term, scoring 14 goals and registering 12 assists in all competitions. He even guided the Eagles to win their first major trophy in the FA Cup.
Now, on TBR Football, Bailey states that Arsenal are ‘pushing’ hard to sign Eze by maintaining talks with the player’s representatives over this deal.
The player has even told his close friends that he is joining the North London club, so there is a ‘very good’ chance that he will be donning an Arsenal shirt next season. The Englishman’s existing deal with the South London club will run until 2027 and has a £68m release clause.
Eze has flourished in his career as a left CAM in Oliver Glasner’s 3-4-2-1 formation. Moreover, he is comfortable on the left flank and played in this role for England in the European Championship last summer.
Eze to Arsenal
Former manager Roy Hodgson even deployed him in a box-to-box role in midfield three. So, his versatility would be a great asset for Arsenal should they buy him, and Mikel Arteta likes having players like him. Moreover, he is technically sound and possesses the necessary attributes to flourish in Arteta’s system.
Arsenal have been very active this summer, and credit goes to their recruitment team for finishing most of their transfer work early, giving Arteta time to train with the new players during pre-season. This demonstrates their strong desire to finally win major silverware next season.
They have purchased Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, and Cristhian Mosquera, while Viktor Gyokeres is set to join next.
Therefore, if they manage to sign Eze as well, that would be an outstanding transfer window for Arsenal. Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club can eventually secure Eze’s service.
