Arsenal face PSG, Liverpool battle for Rodrygo Goes
Arsenal’s reported interest in Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes may now face serious pressure from two European heavyweights, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race for the Brazilian, with Liverpool also keeping a close watch on the situation.
Both clubs view him as a valuable market opportunity and could now battle it out with Arsenal over a deal this summer.
Rodrygo’s future in Spain is now uncertain, with reports suggesting the 24-year-old may not be fully settled under new manager Xabi Alonso.
His role at Real Madrid next season is unclear with widespread reports suggesting he’s not in Alonso’s plans.
PSG are believed to see Rodrygo as a key target as they rebuild following their Champions League triumph.
Liverpool on the other hand have identified the South American as a potential replacement for Luis Diaz – who’s targeted by Bayern Munich.
Arsenal left-wing issues prompt renewed interest
Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their attack, remain in the hunt for a proper left winger this summer.
They view Rodrygo as a player who could offer much-needed quality and depth in that position.
Last season, both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard struggled with injuries and inconsistent form, creating a gap on the left flank.
The Gunners want to solve this problem with a proven wide player and Rodrygo is a top target for Mikel Arteta.
Rodrygo brings more than just wing play. His flexibility allows him to play across the front line, including through the centre as a striker.
This level of adaptability is one reason why several top European sides are targeting him during this window.
At just 24, he still has many years ahead at the top level. Despite a mixed campaign for Real Madrid last season, Rodrygo managed to produce strong numbers.
He scored 14 goals and also provided 11 assists across all competitions last season.
Arsenal are expected to weigh up their options carefully as they consider how to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
However, with PSG and Liverpool also circling, they may have to act quickly.
The competition for Rodrygo is growing, and with his versatility and end product, it is clear why top clubs across Europe are now lining up for his signature.
