Arsenal plot swoop to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers

By on July 23, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, as per Caught Offside.

Since becoming the Villans’ manager, Unai Emery has transformed the team into serious contenders for European qualification in the Premier League. They finished in the top four in the 2023/24 campaign before narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification last term.

Two players who have played a pivotal role in their rejuvenation are Rogers and Ollie Watkins. The former moved to Villa Park last year and has established himself as a talismanic figure in no time.

In 54 appearances last term, the Englishman scored 14 goals and registered 13 assists. He has secured his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England national team as well. As a result, he has attracted the attention of several upper-echelon English clubs.

Now, Caught Offside claim that Arsenal are ‘keen’ on signing Rogers and could make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this window. Aston Villa don’t want to let him leave for cheap, as he still has five years left in his current contract and have slapped a £70m price tag on his head.

Apart from the Gunners, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are also plotting a swoop for him. The Blues are even preparing to include Benoît Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, and Tosin Adarabioyo in a swap deal to reduce Villa’s price tag for Rogers.

Rogers to Arsenal

The former Manchester City youngster is a CAM by trait but is also comfortable on either flank. However, he looks more threatening on the left, though Emery used him on the right for the majority of last season.

Arsenal have been busy reinforcing the squad this summer and have already purchased Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Noni Madueke. Moreover, Cristhian Mosquera is close to joining, while Viktor Gyokeres is set to be the centre-forward acquisition.

Furthermore, it has been reported that the North London club want a new CAM to support Martin Odegaard and are also interested in upgrading the left flank.

Rodrygo Goes, Eberechi Eze, and Anthony Gordon have been mentioned as the potential options, but Rogers is now emerging as a new serious target.
