Arsenal lead race for Eze amid Chelsea, Bayern interest
Arsenal are now leading the chase for Eberechi Eze after the Crystal Palace midfielder reportedly gave his preference to a move to the Emirates.
According to HandOfArsenal, the Gunners are Eze’s top choice ahead of strong interest from Chelsea and German giants Bayern Munich.
The 27-year-old has been on the radar of several top clubs this summer following his impressive form for both club and country.
While Eze has a £68 million release clause in his current deal, Arsenal have yet to submit an official offer for the Palace star.
It is understood that informal discussions have taken place between the two London clubs, although nothing concrete has materialised just yet.
The England international is capable of playing in midfield and on the left wing, which adds flexibility to any system he joins.
His decision to favour Arsenal is seen as a major boost for Mikel Arteta, who is keen to add more creativity to his squad.
Arteta wants more attacking options
The Gunners have already made progress in attack this window with the arrival of Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
They are also close to completing a high-profile deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres in the coming days.
Eze is seen as a player who can unlock defences, carry the ball at speed, and contribute with goals from midfield.
His ability to drift into wide spaces and take on defenders fits well into Arteta’s fluid style of play.
Chelsea and Bayern were both said to be keen on securing his signature but now appear behind in the race.
Arsenal are also looking to create space within their squad for new additions, which may lead to outgoing transfers.
One such possible exit is Leandro Trossard, whose future remains uncertain despite featuring regularly last season.
A departure for the Belgian would likely open up room for Eze to join and compete for a place in the starting eleven.
The Gunners are expected to keep pushing on all fronts this summer as they aim to challenge again both in England and in Europe.
Securing Eze would underline Arsenal’s intention to add depth, dynamism, and quality in key areas of the pitch ahead of the new season.
