Chelsea want Garnacho Before Deadline Day
With the record-breaking prize money from the FIFA Club World Cup amounting to £85 million in total, the club is aggressively seeking new talent on their side.
One of the key targets that matches Enzo Maresca’s case and the club is United’s Alejandro Garnacho, who has mentioned that he intends to leave the club.
Now, fans with Chelsea tickets are awaiting the move from the club.
Garnacho Situation
Chelsea are closely monitoring Alejandro Garnacho’s situation at Manchester United, but signing the winger would depend on players first departing Stamford Bridge.
Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson would likely need to be offloaded, even though United have lowered their required transfer fee from £70 million ($81m) to £40 million ($46m).
Garnacho was left out of United’s preseason tour of the United States, alongside Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho, as he is not in coach Ruben Amorim’s plans for the new season.
Aston Villa and several Saudi Pro League clubs are also interested in his signature.
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery sees Garnacho as a valuable player for his style of play; however, a source has told that Garnacho would prefer to sign for a team in the Champions League.
Sources have told ESPN that Garnacho’s priority is to stay in the Premier League, and he remains in England as he awaits to resolve his future.
Chelsea previously approached the winger in January and has since kept a close eye on his situation.
Fulham to Be Sterling’s Next Destination?
One thing that every fan who has been to Stamford Bridge with Chelsea tickets will agree on is that the Raheem Sterling test has not gone to plan.
A legend in the Premier League with Manchester City, Sterling’s career after the City exit has not gone according to plan.
After a disastrous season, Sterling moved to Arsenal on loan, hoping for improvement, but the worries only deepened.
Fulham have put Raheem Sterling on a shortlist of summer targets – but will wait until later in the window to move for the Chelsea forward.
Sterling, 30, was loaned to Arsenal last season and will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge again this summer, with his club’s west London neighbours emerging as a credible destination.
Marco Silva is looking to bring Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson back to Craven Cottage after loaning him last season, although he will also look at further wide options as he shapes his squad for the Premier League campaign.
Sterling, with 82 England caps, has been discussed as a player to add his experience to Silva’s squad and with a point to prove after being allowed to leave Chelsea three years after his £47.5m move from Manchester City.
While Sterling has been linked with Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus this window, Fulham holds the attraction of Premier League football without the upheaval of moving countries.
Sterling started 13 games for Arsenal last season after being granted a short-term move. He is among the players Chelsea will look to offload before the window closes, with the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Ben Chilwell players who can leave for the right deals.
He was signed by Thomas Tuchel for Chelsea in 2022, and playing regularly next season could offer a pathway back into the England reckoning after winning his last cap to date in the 2022 World Cup quarter-final defeat by France.
With FIFA now imposing a six-loan limit on players joining foreign clubs, Chelsea must strategize who goes abroad.
For instance, Carney Chukwuemeka went on loan to Borussia Dortmund last season, and others may follow suit to Strasbourg this transfer window.
Sterling’s status at the club was made clear last season when he was left out of Enzo Maresca’s first-team considerations despite his experience while at Liverpool and City earlier in his career.
Chelsea wants Xavi Simons
Earlier this year, PSG sold Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig. Since then, the Dutch midfielder has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Leipzig paid €80 million for Simons, with €55 million paid upfront. The 22-year-old signed a contract running through June 2027, while PSG secured a sell-on clause as part of the deal.
The Athletic’s Adam Crafton reports that PSG received €17 million (£15 million) this week from a sell-on clause tied to Hugo Ekitiké’s transfer, so expect a similar sum from a Simons sale should it occur.
Moreover, Romano recently shared that Chelsea is making good progress in talks with Simons over personal terms. The midfielder is keen on the move and open to joining Chelsea, with direct negotiations ongoing to finalise the contract.
Chelsea reportedly wants to move quickly to wrap up the player’s agreement before starting formal club-to-club talks with Leipzig.
Could former PSG ace land at Chelsea?
“Chelsea is working on this extra creator, which is amazing considering they have Cole Palmer and Estevao,” Bailey told TBR Football. “However, Chelsea’s recruitment staff know what they want.
“Talks are ongoing over Xavi Simons, but their interest in Morgan Rogers has not gone away. Joe Shields, as we have said, would love to bring Rogers to Stamford Bridge, and there is still strong interest from within the club in Garnacho.”
CaughtOffside recently revealed that Simons could be available for around €60 million this summer and is open to moving to the Premier League. Discussions are underway about a potential transfer to London, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham all in the mix as possible destinations for the Netherlands international.
Chelsea wants Kenan Yildiz from Juventus
When rumours first started a few weeks ago that Juventus were preparing yet another contract extension (and raise) for Kenan Yildiz, one of the biggest reasons was to try and prevent the young No. 10 from being tempted by the riches of the Premier League.
Although the contract extension has yet to be signed, here is an example of why it is pending.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday, Juventus have rebuffed Chelsea’s latest attempt to sign every young attacking talent in the world after the Club World Cup champs offered up a whole lot of money to try and bring Yildiz to London.
While Gazzetta didn’t give us an exact number when it comes to the price tag in which Chelsea offered up to Yildiz, they say that it was “at least €65-€68 million” — which, considering Yildiz was signed for very little as a teenager from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022, would be a massive profit for the biggest asset Juventus currently has on its roster.
Chelsea tickets are now on offer for the opening games.
