Arsenal are reportedly ‘keeping a close eye’ on Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes, as per transfer expert Mike Brown.

The Gunners began the summer window with a plan to revamp their midfield department, sign a proven striker, acquire a backup goalkeeper, and bolster the wide forward position.

Mikel Arteta’s side have completed most of their to-do list, with Kepa Arrizabalaga joining to support David Raya, while Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard have been signed to replace Thomas Partey and Jorginho.

Noni Madueke is close to moving to the Emirates Stadium to support Bukayo Saka, while Viktor Gyokeres is set to be their new centre-forward.

Moreover, they have decided to buy Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia to add depth in the centre-back position. Doing that wasn’t necessary as they already have enough qualities in this area, but the Spaniard is a talented player and is available for a bargain deal. So, Arteta’s side didn’t want to pass on an opportunity like this.

Now, on Football Insider, Brown says that Arsenal are upgrading those positions, where they feel they need to bolster to finally win the Premier League title next season.

Rodrygo to Arsenal

The North London club believe Gabriel Martinelli doesn’t have the quality to help the club win big silverware, so they are planning to purchase a new left winger despite already signing Madueke.

Arsenal have been ‘keeping a close eye’ on Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid, and he has been struggling to find regular game time. So, the forward might be tempted to move to the Emirates Stadium should they offer him the regular playing time.

However, the deal is dependent on how much Los Blancos will demand for him, and Arsenal will have to splash ‘big money’ to finalise the operation.

Brown said:

“Arsenal are in a situation now where they have to be winning things. That’s the step they’re trying to make in the transfer window and the reason they seem to be making progress on a number of different deals. They want to upgrade on the players who they think are not quite enough to make them title winners. Gabriel Martinelli is one of those, and it’s no secret they’re looking to bring in wingers.

“They’ve been keeping a close eye on Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid, and that’s a deal they feel would work for all parties. If Arsenal feel they can offer him regular football, then that’s a move he could be tempted to make.”

“A lot might depend on what Real Madrid are asking for him because it might be big money.“

Rodrygo is a versatile forward as he can play anywhere across the frontline. He has showcased his qualities at the highest level over the last few years at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

Therefore, Arsenal should sign players like him to finally win the Premier League title. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his service in this transfer window.
