Arsenal ‘close’ to finalising a deal to sign Eberechi Eze

By on July 15, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly ‘close’ to finalising a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, as per Football Insider.

After finishing second in the last three consecutive Premier League campaigns, questions have raised whether Mikel Arteta possesses the necessary tactical nous to guide the Gunners become the English champions.

However, the North London club have kept faith in him and are looking to back him fully in this window. After securing the services of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard, they are closing in on a deal to purchase Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera.

Moreover, Arsenal have agreed on a deal in principle with Sporting CP to sign Viktor Gyokeres to reinforce the centre-forward position. Furthermore, they are eyeing a new left sided forward with Rodrygo Goes linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium alongside Eze.

Therefore, Arteta must win big silverware next season to prove his doubters wrong. Now, Football Insider state that Arsenal are ready to sign Eze by paying his release clause amount, which is around £68m.

However, they can’t pay the sum in full and are hoping to structure the payment with a significant amount up front and the rest paid in installments. Although Crystal Palace are eager to keep hold of their star man, they could be open to accepting the proposal.

Eze to Arsenal

Arsenal have also held talks with the player’s representatives to agree on personal terms with him. So, Arteta’s side are ‘close’ to finalising a deal to buy the Englishman.

Eze has been in stellar form in the Premier League in the last two seasons. He is a left-sided forward by trait but is also comfortable in the CAM role. Moreover, he previously played in the box-to-box role in a midfield three under Roy Hodgson.

Eze is a Premier League proven player and is an experienced campaigner. The forward is technically gifted and is efficient in taking set pieces. He would be an upgrade to Arsenal’s left flank, which include Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his signature before the start of next season.
