Arsenal target Blackburn’s teenage star Igor Tyjon

Arsenal have added Blackburn Rovers teenager Igor Tyjon to their summer shortlist, according to a report from The Athletic.

The 17-year-old has caught the eye with his rise through the ranks at Ewood Park. Arsenal see him as a perfect fit for their long-term plans.

Rapid progress at Ewood Park

Born in Southport on March 20, 2008, Tyjon joined Blackburn’s academy from Rochdale in July 2023. He made quick progress through the youth levels.

He made his senior debut on 14 September 2024, during a 3-0 win over Bristol City. At just 16 years and 178 days, he became the club’s third-youngest debutant.

He later made another short senior appearance against Sunderland in April 2025. Tyjon also shone for the club’s under-21 team last season.

In Premier League 2, he scored four goals in seven matches. His ability to switch positions across the front line makes him an exciting player to watch.

He can play as a centre forward, a winger, or in an attacking midfield role. This flexibility is a key reason Arsenal are keen to sign him.

Tyjon tipped for Hale End move

The Gunners view Tyjon as a player who fits the Hale End profile. The academy has produced stars like Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
