Arsenal ‘working’ to table bid to sign Eze

By on July 8, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly ‘working’ on a structured bid to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, as per the Independent.

The Gunners commenced the transfer window slowly but have now picked up their pace. Having already purchased Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi, they are close to finalising a deal to sign Christian Norgaard.

There has been widespread speculation that the North London club need a new centre-forward to finally win the Premier League title, sparking intrigue over who they might sign.

Having been linked with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres over the last few weeks, Mikel Arteta’s side have reportedly decided to go for the Sporting CP star.

Furthermore, the Spanish boss’s side have surprisingly opted to make a move for Noni Madueke to bolster the wide forward position and have already agreed on personal terms with him.

Now, the Independent claim that Arsenal are also planning to buy Eze but after purchasing Gyokeres and Zubimendi, they can’t spend big again due to PSR regulations.

Eze to Arsenal

Therefore, they are working on a structured bid that will allow them to sign the Crystal Palace star without making any major sales. The forward has entered the final two years of his current contract and has a £60m release clause in his deal. Moreover, the clause has performance-related bonuses as well.

However, Arsenal are planning to aim for a structure that will allow them to pay the clause in three installments of £20m. Eze is even ready to move to the Emirates Stadium should he leave Crystal Palace this summer.

However, Liverpool hold a long-term interest in the England international and could make a move to seal the deal ahead of Arsenal. But neither the Gunners nor the Reds have made a concrete approach to sign him yet.

Eze is a Premier League proven versatile forward. He is comfortable playing on the left flank and the CAM role; moreover, he can provide cover in the box-to-box position in the midfield three if needed.

Therefore, he would be a great coup for the North London club should they eventually manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium before the start of next season.
