Arsenal keen on move for Roma defender Ndicka
Arsenal are reportedly showing strong interest in signing Roma centre-back Evan Ndicka, according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, translated by Sport Witness.
The Gunners are looking to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season, and Ndicka has now emerged as one of their key options.
Despite already having several strong defenders, Mikel Arteta wants to increase competition and add more depth across his backline.
The club’s current centre-back options include Gabriel Magalhães, William Saliba, Ben White, Jakub Kiwior, and Jurrien Timber.
However, the reports claim that Arsenal are still keen on Ndicka and are monitoring his situation at Roma very closely.
Roma are under pressure to meet financial regulations and may be forced to sell players in order to balance their books this summer.
As a result, Ndicka is seen as one of the players the Italian club are ready to let go for the right price.
Ndicka attracting interest from multiple European clubs
As per the report, Roma are expected to demand a fee of around £30 million for the Ivorian defender, who has impressed since joining the Serie A side.
The 25-year-old played every single minute of Roma’s league campaign last season, showing consistency and high physical fitness.
This feat had not been achieved at Roma since the 1999–2000 season, when club legend Aldair managed the same.
Ndicka is gaining interest from several other top clubs, including Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The left-footed defender is known for his strong tackling, aerial ability, and calmness while playing out from the back.
He is very comfortable in a back-three system, where he often pushes forward to link up with wing-backs.
Ndicka is also capable of playing in a traditional back four, making him a versatile option for any side looking for defensive strength.
His pace, sharp positioning, and quality on the ball make him a strong candidate for Premier League football.
Arsenal will now consider whether to step up their interest with a formal offer, as competition for his signature continues to grow.
