Thomas Partey Arsenal

Thomas Partey is now expected to depart Arsenal this summer after failing to agree fresh terms with the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Ghana international is set to become a free agent once his current deal runs out.

Arsenal held talks with the 32-year-old over a possible extension, but negotiations failed to move forward.

Partey has spent five seasons at the Emirates after signing from Atlético Madrid in 2020 for a reported £45 million fee.

He has been a key figure under Mikel Arteta, featuring in several important matches across domestic and European competitions.

Though his time at the club was often affected by injury, Partey offered composure and experience in midfield when available.

With his deal expiring and no breakthrough in talks, the midfielder is now preparing for a fresh challenge elsewhere.

He will be free to choose his next club as a free agent once he officially leaves Arsenal in the coming weeks.

Arsenal move fast to replace outgoing star

With Partey heading for the exit door, Arsenal have been forced into the transfer market and wasted no time in identifying a replacement, with at least one new addition already wrapped up.

The club have agreed a £9 million deal with Brentford for Christian Nørgaard, and the Danish midfielder is expected to join soon.

Personal terms have already been settled, and Nørgaard is set to undergo his medical before final confirmation of the move.

Another name on the way in is Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, who is close to completing a move to north London.

Zubimendi is admired by Arteta for his intelligence on the ball and ability to dictate the tempo of games.

Arsenal want to reinforce their midfield with players who can adapt to various systems and handle pressure in big matches.

The loss of Partey will be felt, especially in terms of leadership and game management.

However, the club believe the incoming players can help maintain balance and control in midfield going forward.

With Champions League football and a title race in sight, Arsenal are working to ensure the squad is ready for the season ahead.
