Arsenal make enquiry about signing Jadon Sancho
Arsenal have reportedly asked Manchester United about the availability of Jadon Sancho, according to a report from CaughtOffside.
The 25-year-old winger returned to Old Trafford this summer after a mixed loan spell at Chelsea. His future at the club remains uncertain.
Sancho spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Stamford Bridge, making 42 appearances across all competitions. He scored five goals and provided 10 assists.
Although his performances were inconsistent, several clubs have now shown interest in signing him permanently this summer.
Clubs including Napoli, Fenerbahce, and Borussia Dortmund are all believed to be tracking the England international. Dortmund, in particular, are hoping to reunite with their former player.
Arsenal’s interest is seen as a surprise, but sources suggest they see value in the deal. The Gunners are aiming to add depth to their attack ahead of the new season.
Sancho still has admirers despite United struggles
Sancho has struggled for consistency since joining Manchester United in 2021.
However, many believe that he could still reach his full potential in a team with a clear system and strong structure.
He was part of the Borussia Dortmund team that reached the Champions League final in the 2023/24 season. That campaign remains one of the highlights of his career.
Sancho’s style of play and creativity may suit Arsenal’s attacking setup. Mikel Arteta is looking to increase competition for places in his front line.
Despite not yet making a formal offer, Arsenal’s enquiry shows they are serious about exploring options beyond their usual targets.
The move could also reflect a slight change in their transfer approach.
Arteta is preparing his squad for another push at the Premier League title and a deeper Champions League run.
Adding a player like Sancho could bring quality and versatility, especially with the extra fixtures coming in the 2025/26 campaign.
Arsenal will now decide whether to follow up their initial contact with a firm offer. United, for their part, are open to selling if the right proposal arrives.
Sancho has two years left on his contract, but his time at Manchester United may soon be coming to an end.
