Arsenal interested in signing Nottingham Forest’s Elanga

By on June 11, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest forward Anthony Elanga, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.

After ranking through Manchester United’s youth system, the 23-year-old made his first-team debut back in 2021. He played regularly under former interim manager Ralf Rangnick, but following his departure and Erik ten Hag’s arrival as the new manager, he struggled to find regular game time.

So, he decided to leave Old Trafford and signed for the Reds a couple of years ago. The forward displayed promising performances in his debut campaign at the City Ground before improving his game even more last term.

In 38 Premier League appearances, the Swedish international scored six goals and registered 11 assists last term. He even guided Forest to secure Conference League football by finishing seventh.

Now, on TBR Football, Bailey states that after monitoring Elanga’s performances in recent months, Arsenal have expressed a firm interest in signing him.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side consider the forward as a key part of their long-term project, so they don’t want to let him leave. But several other clubs, including Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Aston Villa, are also interested in him.

Elanga to Arsenal

The player knows that he has attracted a lot of attention this summer. So, if the Reds are forced to sell him over the coming weeks, they want more than £60m as they believe Elanga is worth more than Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Arsenal are planning to reinforce the frontline this summer. Purchasing a new centre-forward is their priority, but hiring a new left winger is also on Mikel Arteta’s agenda. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard displayed average performances last term, so the Gunners want an upgrade.

Nico Williams, Alejandro Garnacho, and Anthony Gordon have all been linked with a move to Arsenal, with the Forest star now emerging as a new serious option.

Elanga usually plays as a right winger for Forest but is also comfortable on the opposite side, moreover, he can be deployed in the centre-forward position.

The forward is a talented player and possesses high potential, so he would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they eventually manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this transfer window.
