Arsenal ‘most interested’ in signing Juventus star Yildiz
Arsenal are reportedly the ‘most interested’ club to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per Italian outlet Tutto Sport.
After joining the Bianconeri as a free agent back in 2022, the 20-year-old made his first team debut the following year before establishing himself as a key player in recent times.
The youngster endured a topsy-turvy campaign last term, still he managed to showcase glimpses of his qualities and ended the campaign promisingly. In the last seven league games, he scored three goals and registered two assists, which eventually helped his side qualify for the Champions League next season by finishing in the top four.
After impressing with the Old Lady of Turin, Yildiz has secured his place in the Turkiye national team, making 20 appearances thus far.
Now, Tutto Sport claim that after scouting the youngster intensively in recent months, Arsenal are the ‘most interested’ club in securing his service this summer.
The Gunners hold a long-term interest in the forward as they initially tried to purchase him one and a half years ago and even tabled a formal proposal, but Juventus turned down the offer.
Yildiz to Arsenal
Arsenal are willing to hire a new wide forward this summer and have identified Yildiz as a serious option alongside Nico Williams of Athletic Club. They are prepared to spend up to £60m for Yildiz, however, Juventus want around £100m with his existing deal set to run until 2029.
Matteo Tognozzi, who is currently the head scout of Arsenal, played a key role in helping Juventus land Yildiz back in 2022. Now, he could replicate the same with the North London club. Andrea Berta, the new sporting director of Arsenal, is keen on handing Arteta a young, talented wide forward this summer.
The Juventus star is a technically gifted, versatile player, he is comfortable playing out wide and in the No.10 role. Moreover, he can provide cover in the centre-forward position if needed.
The Turkish international is comfortable with both feet and has the necessary attributes to flourish in Arteta’s possession-based system. Therefore, he could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his service this summer.
