Arsenal battling with PL rivals to sign Bradley Barcola
Arsenal are reportedly in a battle with Premier League rivals to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola, as per Caught Offside.
Les Parisiens have enjoyed a stellar campaign under Luis Enrique this season, winning the treble for the first time in the club’s history. Moreover, they won the French Super Cup trophy by defeating AS Monaco.
Several of their front players have had a productive campaign this term, with Ousmane Dembele one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or. Moreover, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have also displayed tremendous form performances.
Barcola also played a key role for Enrique’s side this season, but his importance has gone under the radar a bit as he hasn’t started in big matches in the Champions League in the second half of this term.
In 58 appearances in all competitions, the 22-year-old has netted 21 goals and registered 18 assists. He scored a brace and notched up an assist in the Coupe de France final against Stade de Reims.
Moreover, the forward registered an assist in the Champions League final against Inter Milan after coming on as a substitute in the second half.
Now, Caught Offside claim that Arsenal have earmarked Barcola as a serious target to reinforce the frontline after scouting him closely over the last few months.
Barcola to Arsenal
However, the Gunners aren’t the only club lining up a swoop for him as Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also in this race, with the Citizens considering purchasing him as a potential replacement for Jack Grealish, who is expected to leave this summer.
PSG have no intention of letting Barcola leave this summer and have been working to extend his deal until 2030. However, if they can’t manage to keep hold of him, they want up to £101m to sell him with his existing deal set to run until 2028.
The youngster is a left winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. Arsenal want to upgrade the left flank this summer and have been linked with a few names, with the Frenchman emerging as the new serious target.
It remains to be seen whether the North London club will eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service this summer.
