Arsenal plotting move for Maher Carrizo this summer

By on May 22, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly showing strong interest in Maher Carrizo, the rising forward from Argentine side Velez Sarsfield, according to Velez Digital.

The 19-year-old has been one of the standout young players in Argentina this season, catching the eye both in domestic matches and continental competitions.

Carrizo’s displays in the Argentine Primera Division and the CONMEBOL Libertadores have drawn attention from several clubs in the Premier League.

Velez Digital claims that Arsenal are showing a strong interest in signing Carrizo but face competition as Manchester City, Manchester United, and Wolves are also believed to be keeping tabs on the talented attacker.

Arsenal, known for signing young players with potential from South America, are once again scouting the region for the next big breakthrough.

With plans to strengthen their forward line, Carrizo is among the names being considered ahead of the summer window.

Versatility and form make Carrizo a tempting option

Carrizo has made a big impact in limited games, scoring four times and registering an assist in five appearances in the Libertadores.

Although he may not yet be a finished product, the teenager’s early signs suggest he could adapt well with the right guidance in Europe.

The Gunners are weighing up whether to make a move now or wait until he gains more experience in Argentina.

Carrizo is left-footed and operates mostly as an inside forward, but his ability to play multiple roles across the frontline is a major advantage.

He can also be deployed as a winger on the right, in the hole behind the striker or as a centre forward.

His key attributes include speed, quick feet, strong dribbling, clever movement, and the ability to finish well in the final third.

Reports value the youngster at around £13 million, a figure that could rise depending on the level of interest he continues to generate.

Arsenal are aiming to add new attacking options, and Carrizo’s flexibility could make him a smart long-term investment if signed this summer.

While nothing is confirmed yet, the Gunners are clearly keeping a close eye on his development ahead of potential talks.
