Arsenal eye move to sign Bournemouth star Semenyo

By on May 13, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing AFC Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Following a disappointing defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final, the Gunners are set to endure yet another trophyless campaign this term.

Fabrizio Romano has recently reported that the North London club will remain busy in the upcoming transfer window to strengthen the squad in order to finally win big silverware next season.

They have been working on several deals at the moment and are reportedly close to agreeing on a deal to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

The journalist says that Arsenal want a new striker and defender this summer, moreover, they will hire a new wide forward.

Athletic Club star Nico Williams has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times. However, Fichajes state that Arsenal are also interested in Semenyo, having been impressed by his performances in the Premier League this season.

Bournemouth don’t want to part ways with the Ghanaian for cheap and want around £42m with him still having four years left in his current contract.

Semenyo to Arsenal

Arsenal currently have Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri as the options for the right flank, while Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are for the left.

Saka has been the talismanic figure for the Gunners in recent times, and Nwaneri has showcased glimpses of his rich potential this season.

However, Martinelli has displayed inconsistent performances this season, and Trossard has entered his 30s. So, signing a new left winger would be the right decision.

Semenyo is a versatile forward as he is comfortable playing on either flank. The 25-year-old has enjoyed a promising campaign this season, scoring 11 goals and registering six assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

He is comfortable with both feet and is currently at the right stage of his career to take the next step. So, the African could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, Semenyo hasn’t been a prolific forward, and Arsenal should go for an elite-level player, who would be able to help the club achieve their lofty ambitions.

Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service this summer.
