Arsenal ‘keen’ on signing West Ham ace Mohammed Kudus

Arsenal are reportedly ‘keen’ on signing West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, as per Caught Offside.
After moving to the London Stadium ahead of last season, the Ghanaian enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Premier League, scoring eight goals and registering six assists.
However, the forward hasn’t been able to replicate the same performance this season, making only five goal contributions in the league, and he hasn’t been able to find the back of the net since December.
Caught Offside claim that despite the forward’s recent underwhelming displays for West Ham, big English clubs are still interested in signing him. Arsenal are ‘keen’ on securing his service and have been keeping a close eye on him before making a potential swoop this summer.
The player could be open to leaving West Ham to join a top club in order to consistently compete for big silverware.
The forward reportedly has a £85m release clause in his current contract, and his existing deal will run until 2028. The Hammers are ready to cash-in on him to raise funds to rebuild the squad under Graham Potter’s guidance.
Kudus to Arsenal
The report say that apart from the North London club, Liverpool and Chelsea are also plotting a swoop for the African. Moreover, Saudi Arabian clubs are in this race as well. Therefore, Arsenal will have to overcome stiff competition to seal the deal.
Kudus is a versatile player as he is comfortable on either flank and is also efficient in the attacking midfield position. Moreover, the forward can provide cover in the false nine role if needed.
If Arsenal hire Kudus, Mikel Arteta will be able to manage Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli’s minutes. Considering Leandro Trossard will turn 31 this year and will enter the final year of his current contract this summer, purchasing a new forward as a potential replacement for him would be the right decision.
However, Kudus hasn’t had a good campaign this season, and it might not be the right decision to hire him unless West Ham lower their valuation.
Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure Kudus to the Emirates Stadium in the upcoming transfer window.
