Arsenal Target Rodrygo as Real Madrid Set £82.7m Price
Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Rodrygo in the summer transfer window, according to reports from Fichajes
Rodrygo is widely regarded as one of the top forwards in world football and plays a crucial role at Real Madrid.
His talent has not gone unnoticed by his teammates, with England international Jude Bellingham recently praising him as “the most talented and gifted player” in the squad. Bellingham also believes Rodrygo is “very underrated” despite his consistent performances.
So far this season, the South American has registered 12 goals and nine assists in 34 appearances across all competitions, helping Madrid in their quest to retain both LaLiga and the Champions League.
Arteta Keen on Rodrygo
Rodrygo’s impressive form has attracted interest from Arsenal, with Fichajes reporting that manager Mikel Arteta is personally eager to bring him to the Emirates.
Arteta views the Brazilian as a key player who could significantly enhance the team’s attacking prowess.
However, getting Rodrygo away from Madrid will be no easy task. The report suggests that Los Blancos are reluctant to part ways with one of their most valuable players unless Arsenal submit an “irresistible” offer.
A bid in the region of £82.7 million is believed to be the minimum required to spark any serious negotiations.
Arsenal to overhaul attack
After falling short in their bid to win the Premier League in consecutive seasons, Arsenal are determined to strengthen their squad.
With the title slipping out of their grasp once again this season, Arteta is expected to push for high-profile reinforcements, particularly in attack.
Injuries to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus has exposed Arsenal’s lack of depth in the final third so Arteta is planning to rectify that issue in the summer.
Rodrygo would be a sensational signing if the Gunners could pull it off but it will be extremely difficult to lure him away from Madrid this summer.
Despite his young age, Rodrygo has already built an impressive trophy cabinet. Alongside his LaLiga and Champions League triumphs, he has won the Copa del Rey, two UEFA Super Cups, and a FIFA Club World Cup.
His winning mentality and experience could be exactly what Arsenal need as they look to take the next step under Arteta.
