Arsenal Receive Huge Boost in Pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal have been handed a significant boost in their search for a striker, as target Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly set to leave Juventus for a cut-price fee, according to CalcioMercato
The Serbian forward joined Juventus in January 2022 from Fiorentina in a £66 million deal and was the club’s leading center-forward until the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani. However, his status has since diminished, with the French striker now taking the starting role.
It is no secret that Arsenal are in desperate need of a prolific center-forward and additional attacking options, with manager Mikel Arteta keeping Vlahovic on the club’s radar for quite some time. Injuries to key attackers Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have only intensified the club’s need to reinforce the frontline.
Juventus Ready to Offload Vlahovic
Reports indicate that Juventus are looking to secure Kolo Muani on a permanent deal, further pushing Vlahovic down the pecking order.
The Italian club is now willing to let the Serbian leave for as little as £33 million, a massive drop from the initial fee they paid for him.
Vlahovic has so far resisted extending his contract with the Turin giants, increasing the likelihood of his departure. With Kolo Muani thriving, scoring five goals in four league games, Vlahovic’s role has significantly diminished, making an exit seem inevitable.
Arsenal Weighing Options
While Vlahovic remains a top target for Arsenal, the North London side is also exploring other attacking options. The Gunners have been linked with several forwards, including Benjamin Sesko, Alexander Isak, and most recently, Hugo Ekitike.
Arsenal took a serious gamble in the January transfer window by failing to sign an attacker, despite being in a title race with limited attacking options.
This decision has now put them in a difficult position as they try to keep pace with Liverpool in the race for the Premier League crown.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal’s need for a reliable goal-scorer becomes more pressing. With Juventus now open to selling Vlahovic for a reduced price, the Gunners may finally have a clear path to securing the striker they have long admired.
