Arsenal reach ‘agreement’ to sign Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi

Arsenal have reportedly reached an ‘agreement’ to sign Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.
After moving to Signal Iduna Park from Red Bull Salzburg back in 2022, the 23-year-old has established himself as a key player for BVB in recent times.
In nine starts in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, the German has scored five goals and registered four assists thus far this season. His appearances have been cut short due to injury but he has now returned from his issue and has been playing regularly.
The Serie A leader Napoli were keen on signing him in the recently concluded winter window as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and even held talks with Dortmund to seal the deal.
But, a move eventually didn’t come to fruition. Now, Fichajes state that the Azzurri backtracked from this deal after knowing that the player has already agreed to join a different club next summer and it is thought to be the Gunners.
Adeyemi to Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has been impressed by Adeyemi’s attributes and believes the forward would be the perfect option to reinforce the squad next summer. So, Arsenal are ready to invest a significant amount to get the deal done.
Adeyemi is valued at around £29m by Transfermarkt and has a contract until 2027 at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund are a selling club and they could be open to cashing-in on him next summer to make the most profit out of his departure.
The youngster is a left-footed versatile forward as he is comfortable playing on either flank but can also provide cover in the centre-forward position if needed.
Arsenal have Bukayo Saka to deploy in the right flank and Ethan Nwaneri has showcased glimpses that he has the qualities to deputise for Saka.
On the other hand, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are the two options for the left flank but neither has been able to showcase their best consistently enough.
Therefore, upgrading this position would be the right decision and Adeyemi could be a shrewd signing if Arsenal purchase him.
However, it remains to be seen whether the North London club can eventually manage to hire Adeyemi next summer to reinforce the attacking department.
