Arsenal Turn Attention to Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel Amid Attacking Crisis

Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on Bayern Munich’s 19-year-old forward, Mathys Tel, as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements.
According to reports from Fraser Fletcher via TeamTalk, Arsenal are keen on signing the highly-rated French U21 international but face stiff competition as he’s also attracted interest from Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United.
The Gunners’ need for attacking options has become urgent, with injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus leaving Mikel Arteta short of firepower.
Arsenal have been actively exploring options in the market, and now, Tel has emerged as a serious target. The report claims that the young winger has decided to leave Bayern Munich, prompting a scramble among elite clubs eager to secure his signature.
Arsenal Make Contact Over Mathys Tel Transfer
According to TeamTalk, Arsenal have initiated discussions with Bayern Munich to explore the conditions required to bring Tel to the Emirates.
Valued at £25 million (transfermarkt) the former Rennes winger is known for his versatility. While his primary position is on the left flank, he is capable of playing across the front three, making him a perfect fit for Arteta’s tactical setup.
In their search for a new attacker, Arsenal have also inquired about Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran. However, reports suggest the Colombian forward is edging closer to a move to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nassr leading the race for his signature. This leaves the Gunners with Tel as one of their best options in the current market.
Arsenal Face Competition for Tel’s Signature
While Arsenal appear well-positioned to sign Tel, they are not alone in the race. Manchester United have expressed strong interest in the winger but must first clear space on their wage bill before making a move.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have already suffered a setback in their pursuit, as Tel is reportedly unconvinced about his development prospects at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the French youngster, though reports suggest their interest is not as concrete at this stage.
Elsewhere, Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen are monitoring Tel’s situation as they prepare for life without Victor Boniface, who is reportedly on his way to Al-Nassr.
Arsenal Pushing for Attacking Reinforcements
Arsenal remain determined to strengthen their attacking options as they aim to keep pressure on Premier League leaders Liverpool while maintaining a strong Champions League campaign.
With Tel now firmly on their radar, the Gunners are working to secure a deal that could provide much-needed depth and quality in their frontline.
As the transfer window progresses, Arsenal fans will be eager to see if the club can fend off competition and bring Mathys Tel to North London.
