Arsenal predicted line-up against Manchester City
Arsenal will travel to Etihad Stadium to face off against Manchester City in a crucial Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners are currently second in the league with 10 points from four games, sitting two points behind the table topper Man City. So, Mikel Arteta’s side will be desperate to win this encounter to take the top spot.
Arsenal will be coming into this game following a 0-0 draw against Atalanta in the Champions League last night. David Raya saved a penalty early in the second half – which eventually helped the North London club come away with a point from Bergamo.
Man City also drew versus Inter Milan in their Champions League encounter in midweek and this weekend’s game is going to be a mouth-watering spectacle for the Premier League fans.
Team news
Arteta has revealed that Martin Odegaard has been ruled out for a few weeks owing to an ankle issue that he sustained out on international duty with Norway. Moreover, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mikel Merino are also unlikely to feature in this encounter due to their respective issues.
Declan Rice was suspended for last weekend’s short trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium having picked up a red card against Brighton and Hove Albion. But, he is eligible to feature this weekend.
Predicted line-up
Arteta is unlikely to make many changes to his starting eleven that started in midweek with Raya set to continue between the sticks following a heroic display last time out.
In front of the Spaniard, there are unlikely to be any changes to the backline so Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber should commence for the Gunners. Therefore, Riccardo Calafiori would be among the substitutes.
Thomas Partey wasn’t at his best in midweek but he should keep hold of place in the holding midfield position and alongside him, Rice and Jorginho should complete the midfield three for Arsenal.
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should be patrolling on the flanks, while Kai Havertz would be the false nine for the visitors. In that case, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus could feature off the bench in this crucial fixture.
Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Man City
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Partey, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Martinelli, Havertz
