Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Fenerbahce star Ferdi Kadioglu this summer, as per the transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Having enjoyed a stellar campaign this term, the Gunners are reportedly planning to splash the cash once again this summer to reinforce the squad in order to continue performing at their best next season.

It has been suggested that Mikel Arteta is keen on strengthening the frontline by signing a new proven striker, but signing a new midfielder to bolster the engine room is on his agenda as well. However, it seems the North London club are also planning to reinforce the backline by signing a new fullback ahead of next season.

Writing on X, Tavolieri has reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Kadioglu and they have already opened talks with the player’s representatives to find an agreement regarding the personal terms.

The journalist further claims that following negotiations, Arsenal are now ‘close’ to finalising the personal terms with the player, however, Tavolieri states that the Gunners haven’t opened any official talks with Fenerbahce yet to get this deal done.

Kadioglu to Arsenal

Tavolieri wrote:

“Infos Arsenal : Sources close to Ferdi Kadıoğlu’s confirmed Turkish left back’s close to the Gunners. Talks with player’s side already ongoing in order to find an agreement on personal terms. No talks with Fenerbahçe yet.”

The 24-year-old has burst onto the scene in recent times having displayed promising performances for Fenerbahce this season, keeping 13 clean-sheets and registering 4 assists in 35 league appearances.

He is a versatile fullback as he can play on both sides and in addition, he can also be deployed in the engine room. The Turkish international is quick, comfortable playing out from the back and also efficient in defensive contributions.

So, with Jakub Kiwior’s future currently hanging in balance at the Emirates Stadium, Kadioglu could be a solid signing for Arsenal if they purchase him to replace the Polish international.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to sign the Fenerbahce star in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their defensive department.
