Other than a clinical striker, Arsenal have these 3 other deals lined up in the summer
The Evening Standard has just dropped a big reveal of what Arsenal fans can expect in the summer transfer window. Echoing David Ornstein’s predictions of Arsenal’s upcoming summer transfer window, the news source tips Mikel Arteta for a big summer spending spree.
With the Premier League on international break and the attention on the title race cooling, big revelations about the summer transfer window are dropping one after the other.
As per the Evening Standard, the Gunners will be looking to let a number of players leave to make way for new signings.
A big summer for Arsenal
In terms of which players will be on their way out, they say it will be surprising if these players are at Arsenal next season: Aaron Ramsdale, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Cedric Soares, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Elneny, Albert Lokonga Sambi, Reiss Nelson, and Eddie Nketiah.
These players’ departures should pave the way (and also raise funds) for some crucial deals that Arteta is keen on in the summer.
As per the Evening Standard, the Arsenal boss will look to sign:
- A goalkeeper to replace Aaron Ramsdale, who’s expected to leave.
- A defender is required to ‘insure’ the Arsenal defense, which, despite its reliability, has struggled with injuries.
- To complete the midfield rebuild, another midfielder is required. There have been links to quality midfielders such as Martin Zubimendi, Douglas Luiz, and Amadou Onana.
- Arsenal need a clinical striker to potentially emulate Manchester City and Erling Haaland. There are times this season when it felt like the Gunners were a clinical striker away from a win, so getting one is a big deal. Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Joshua Zirkzee are some of the strikers linked.
Arsenal are gearing up for a big summer transfer window. If Arsenal can secure these four signings and bring in players capable of challenging for a spot in the starting lineup, then Arteta should have a squad capable of competing on all fronts next season.
The Gunners could be the real deal next year, with Mikel Arteta’s project potentially reaching its peak and ready to dominate.
