Mikel Arteta has shared insights on what Arsenal star boy Bukayo Saka must do to reach his full potential.

This league campaign is being transformed into the Hale End Graduate’s most impressive season. The 22-year-old has been exceptional, scoring 16 goals and providing 11 assists in 31 games (25 in the league, 6 in the Champions League). His performances could easily be described as world-class.

Despite this, Rio Ferdinand and other pundits remain unconvinced of his world-class status.

“Not yet. Listen, I think Saka’s been unreal. I actually think he needs a bit of a rest, so many games for a young kid. But I think it’s almost like, What is world-class? He hasn’t done it in the Champions League, has he? I’m talking in the nitty-gritty stages. Saka’s top; don’t get me wrong. He’s not world-class yet,” said Ferdinand.

Despite the criticism, Saka has been on a perfect goal-scoring streak in the last five league games, scoring seven goals. If he maintains this impressive form, there is no question that he will develop into a world class player.

Bukayo Saka can still improve

Arsenal boss Arteta believes he understands what his No. 7 needs to do to showcase his best self. The Spaniard suggests that the Englishman has room for improvement in his positional awareness, decision-making, and timing.

Arteta said:

“He can become much better. He can get in better positions still. His finishing, especially with certain circumstances, has to improve, and his timing as well, so he can do better.”

One can only imagine the fear that Bukayo Saka could instill in Arsenal’s rivals if he continues to improve.

Pay no attention to the critics; the Three Lions winger is truly a standout player and one of the best in the Premier League right now. Undoubtedly, all Arsenal fans want to see is Bukayo Saka improve and help the club win trophies.
