Arsenal watch Fenerbahce’s Kadioglu for potential summer transfer
The Star reports that Arsenal are gearing up to secure the signing of Turkish midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kadioglu, who has made a strong impression at Fenerbahce, is looking forward to a new challenge this summer. There is a strong belief among many who’ve watched him that he is ready to advance to the next level in his career.
As per the Star, Arsenal have already ‘taken steps’ to position themselves as the fullback’s potential destination. Arsenal are getting ready for a potential transfer deal, but they face competition from Napoli, who have already submitted an offer for the full-back.
Manchester City are also fans of Kadioglu. Recently, Fotomac reported that Guardiola was impressed with him and expressed interest in signing him.
Arsenal to scout Kadioglu
As per the report, Arsenal scouts are set to be present at the Hatayspor vs. Fenerbahce Turkish League game at the Mersin Stadium this weekend. They will closely monitor Kadioglu as they assess his suitability for Arteta’s project.
The yellow-dark blue team is unconcerned about the interest in their player. Instead, they anticipate a substantial income from that potential exit. With Bayern paying more than €30 million (£26 million) for Galatasary full-back Sacha Boey in January, Kadioglu, as per Star, will not go for less.
Kadioglu could prove to be a smart buy for Arsenal. In addition to his outstanding skills as a left-back, the Turkish player is versatile enough to also perform as a right-back or right winger. He possesses the versatility to be a really useful addition to Arteta’s squad.
Recently, Arteta has been forced to deploy his team without a natural left back due to injuries. Having Kadioglu in the squad should help address the worry about a shortage of full-back options in the upcoming seasons.
