Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Liverpool – Jesus out, Havertz starts
Arsenal desperately need a win over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon to get ourselves right back in the title mix.
Mikel Arteta has been dealt a major blow with Gabriel Jesus has been ruled out after aggravating a knee injury. Kai Havertz is recalled to lead the line up front with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli offering support in Arsenal’s attack.
Declan Rice marshals the midfield and he’s joined by skipper Martin Odegaard once again. Jorginho is also recalled to start in the middle of the park with Emile Smith Rowe dropping to the bench.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes start in the heart of Arsenal’s defence. Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko occupy the full-back positions so Jacub Kiwior remains on the bench.
As for Liverpool, Alisson Becker starts in goal while Trent Alexander-Arnold comes in for Conor Bradley at right-back. Ibrahima Konate lines-up alongside Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Cody Gakpo comes in to start up front with Darwin Nunez making way. Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz also start in Liverpool’s attack while Alexis MacAllister, Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch make up the midfield.
