Arsenal weighing up swoop for Bayern Munich star Musiala
Arsenal are reportedly contemplating a swoop for Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala in the upcoming transfer window, as per 90min.
Musiala moved to the Allianz Arena back in 2019 from Chelsea academy as a 16-year-old boy before making his senior debut for the German giants in the following year.
After displaying promising performances for the Bavarian club over the last few years, the 20-year-old has now established himself as a key member of Bayern Munich’s first eleven.
According to the report by 90min, after being impressed by the German international’s displays, Arsenal have registered their interest in acquiring his service.
The report further claims that the Gunners have already opened initial talks with Bayern Munich to learn about the details of purchasing the highly talented midfielder in the upcoming window.
Musiala to Arsenal
However, 90min states that securing Musiala’s signature won’t be straightforward for Mikel Arteta’s side as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are all keen on acquiring his service.
But, the report says that Bayern Munich are desperate to keep hold of their star man so they are planning to tie the 20-year-old down into a new long-term deal to fend off interest from other clubs.
Musiala – valued at around £96m by Transfermarkt – is a versatile player as he is comfortable playing in the attacking midfield position but can also be deployed in the left-wing position.
The German international is quick, technically brilliant, can play threading passes between the lines, has the ability to dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, can finish off chances and also has the ability to create opportunities for attackers.
Musiala is deemed one of the best young talents in the world at the moment so he would be a great coup for the North London club should they manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
However, the Gunners are well-stocked in their attacking midfield position at the moment so I think they don’t need to spend big to sign yet another number ten next year. Therefore, Arsenal would be better off saving the money to reinforce other areas of the squad.
