Arsenal have been monitoring the development of Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto ahead of a potential move in the upcoming transfer window, as per the transfer journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Gunners have been looking to purchase a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka for a very long time. However, despite being linked with numerous options, the North London club haven’t opted to sign anyone yet.

Neto has previously been mentioned as a potential target for Arsenal. However, it was thought that they had decided to cool down their interest in him after deciding not to sign him during the summer of 2022.

However, it seems Arsenal remain interested in signing Neto as speaking to GiveMeSport, Jacobs has now reported that Mikel Arteta’s side have been monitoring the development of the Portuguese ahead of a potential move in the upcoming transfer window.

The journalist further claims that Arteta wants to bolster the right flank next year and likes the Portuguese as an option. Jacobs also states that the winger would fit into the Spaniard’s system perfectly so, he would be a shrewd signing for the Emirates club should they purchase him.

Neto to Arsenal

However, the journalist says that Arsenal haven’t made a concrete approach to secure Neto’s signature yet but things could develop over the coming months.

Jacobs said:

“But this is the type of position where Arsenal very likely will want to strengthen at some point in 2024. They do clearly have options in that Pedro Neto position, which means that he would need to understand his game time at a club like Arsenal. But I think that Mikel Arteta likes that type of profile and I think that Neto would fit into that Arsenal system.

“So nothing, to my knowledge, is sort of advanced at this point, or moving definitively. It reminds me of the sort of Ivan Toney situation with Arsenal where, of course they’re monitoring it and of course it’s a possibility, though it’s perhaps a bit too early to see whether that possibility is going to manifest into something concrete.”

It has been suggested that Neto could leave Wolves next year but Gary O’Neil’s side won’t let their star man leave for cheap if they are forced to cash-in and want a huge fee. So, Arsenal will have to spend big to lure the 23-year-old to the Emirates Stadium.

Neto – valued at around £24m by Transfermarkt – is an extremely talented player and possesses high potential so he would be a great signing for Arsenal if they manage to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
