Juventus looking to sign Arsenal star Thomas Partey
Juventus are reportedly planning to sign Arsenal star Thomas Partey as a replacement for Paul Pogba, as per the Italian outlet La Repubblica.
After moving to the Emirates Stadium back in 2020 from Atletico Madrid in a £43m deal, the 30-year-old has established himself as one of the key members of Mikel Arteta’s first eleven over the last few years.
However, the Gunners were seemingly open to letting the Ghanaian leave this summer due to his consistent injury problems. The Bianconeri expressed their interest in signing the Ghanaian, however, they never opted to formalise their interest before the deadline day.
Arsenal eventually decided to keep Partey at the club, however, after his recent injury problem, speculation has started to emerge that Arsenal could now opt to let him leave in the upcoming window and sign a new midfielder to bolster their engine room.
Meanwhile, while citing the print version of La Repubblica, TUTTOmercatoWeb has reported that Juventus are planning to terminate Pogba’s contract after his suspension for breaching anti-doping offences.
Partey to leave Arsenal
The report further claims that the Bianconeri are looking to reignite their interest in signing Partey from Arsenal as a replacement for Pogba.
It was reported during the summer window that Arsenal were ready to cash-in on Partey if they received a big offer and their stance is expected to be the same in the winter window.
However, it remains to be seen whether Juventus have the financial resources to match the North London club’s valuation as it has been suggested that the Old Lady of Turin are currently struggling with financial issues.
But, if both clubs want to do a deal then it is likely that a move might come to fruition in January. So, should Arsenal were to sell Partey then they will have to sign a new midfielder to replace him. Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo were reportedly on their radar to strengthen their engine room this summer.
However, both of them have now joined Chelsea so it is going to be interesting to see who Arsenal opt to make a move for if they decide to let Partey leave the club in the upcoming January window.
