Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign a new right-winger in this transfer window, as per Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The Gunners have been exploring the possibility of strengthening their right side of attack over the last two transfer windows, but, despite being linked with numerous options, they haven’t purchased anyone yet.

It has previously been reported that Mikel Arteta was planning to strengthen their right flank this summer to support Bukayo Saka. However, although the North London club have already spent over £200m to strengthen their squad, they haven’t signed a new right-sided attacker.

So, it was thought that they have cooled down their interest to purchase a deputy to Saka. But, speaking to GiveMeSport, Sheth has said that Arsenal remain keen on signing a new right-winger this summer so they could intensify their efforts to purchase one before the end of this window.

The journalist further claims that Arteta’s side will now focus on selling some players and after recouping some money having spent over £200m, they will look to strengthen their frontline later this summer.

Reinforcements

Sheth said:

“I just think keep an eye on the right-sided attacking area because it’s been a position they’ve wanted to strengthen in the last three transfer window, and they really haven’t managed to do that. I just wonder whether if they can get enough money from the recouping of the sales, who knows, they might have an eye on bringing someone in that position.”

Upon qualifying for the Champions League next season, Arsenal need proper squad depth to achieve success on all fronts. So, signing a new right-winger will be the right decision as Arteta doesn’t have any alternative option to Saka.

Several players have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over the last few months with Moussa Diaby, Raphinha and Ferran Torres being among them.

However, it won’t be easy for the Gunners to sign Diaby this summer as Bayer Leverkusen want a big fee to let their star man leave and in addition, Aston Villa have made a concrete approach to purchase him. On the other hand, Raphinha has made it clear numerous times that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer.

It has been suggested that the Catalan giants are ready to cash-in on Torres so, he could be an option that Arsenal would be able to sign if they formalise their interest. But, the Spaniard is also eager to stay in Barcelona and doesn’t want to relocate anytime soon.

Therefore, it is going to be interesting to see who Arsenal will decide to sign to bolster their attacking department in this transfer window.
