Arsenal offered the chance to sign Brazilian star Trindade
Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Fluminense star Andre Trindade in this transfer window, as per 90min.
It has been suggested that the Gunners have prioritised bolstering their engine room this summer and are closing in on a deal to sign Declan Rice after agreeing on a record £105m deal with West Ham United.
It has been reported that along with Rice, Mikel Arteta is eager to sign another midfielder before the start of next season. The North London club have been linked with several options over the last few weeks with Romeo Lavia being mentioned as a serious target.
However, Arsenal are reportedly reluctant to meet Southampton’s £45m valuation to sign the Belgian. So, it appears the Gunners have started to explore cheaper alternatives and are looking at the Brazilian market to strengthen their engine room.
Gremio star Bitello has recently emerged as a potential target for Arteta’s side. Now, according to the report by 90min, Arsenal have been handed the opportunity to sign Andre and they could manage to secure his signature for a fee of around £25m if they make a concrete approach.
Andre to Arsenal
However, the report claims that purchasing the 21-year-old won’t be easy for Arsenal as several clubs around Europe such as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also eyeing a swoop for him.
Andre is a deep-lying playmaker by trait but can also play in the box-to-box role. He is technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, has an eye for long-range passing, has the ability to protect the back four and also can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas.
The youngster is an extremely talented player and possesses the necessary attributes to play in Arteta’s possession-based style of football. So, he would be a great signing for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they lure him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually decide to formalise their interest in signing the Brazil international to bolster their midfield department ahead of next season.
