PSG star Kylian Mbappe prefers to join Arsenal

By on July 7, 2023

PSG star Kylian Mbappe reportedly prefers to join Arsenal if he were to move to the Premier League in this transfer window, as per The Independent.

The 24-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of this season and the forward has made it clear that he has no intention of signing an extension with the Ligue 1 giants.

PSG have recently stated that they don’t want to lose Mbappe for free so they are keen on cashing-in on him this summer and Les Parisiens have reportedly slapped a whopping £170m price tag on his head.

So, speculation surrounding his future continues to grow in recent times. Several English clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are seemingly looking to take advantage of this situation as they have registered their interest in signing him.

However, it has been suggested that Real Madrid are the only realistic destination for the Frenchman as Los Blancos have the financial muscle to put together an economic package to sign Mbappe.

Mbappe to Arsenal

According to the report by The Independent, Arsenal is Mbappe’s ‘first preference’ if he ever decides to move to the Premier League as the attacker has been impressed by the Gunners’ resurgence under Mikel Arteta’s guidance and he would love to bring back the glory days to the Emirates Stadium.

However, the report claims that the North London club haven’t made any concrete approach to sign the forward yet and he is valued beyond Arsenal’s budget.

Mbappe is one of the best attackers in the world and his addition would definitely help Arteta’s side in challenging for biggest honours going forward.

However, having already spent more than £200m to sign Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, it is looking impossible for the Emirates club to sign Mbappe in this transfer window.

In addition, Mbappe has the tendency to bring unnecessary drama and Arteta wouldn’t want any negativity around his squad. So, Arsenal would be better off exploring other options to strengthen their attack in this transfer window.

It is going to be interesting to see whether Mbappe ever opts to move to the Premier League and play under Arteta at Arsenal.
