Declan-Rice

Arsenal have reportedly submitted the opening £70m [€80m] bid to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer, as per Sky Germany.

The 24-year-old is reportedly keen on taking the next step in his career at the end of this season so it is highly likely that the midfielder will move away from the London Stadium during the off-season.

It has widely been suggested that the Gunners are looking to take advantage of this situation and sign him this summer to strengthen their engine room.

Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Arsenal are preparing to submit a formal offer to sign the Englishman in the coming weeks. Now, Sky Germany has claimed that the North London club have tabled a £70m [€80m] proposal to secure the midfielder’s signature this summer.

However, West Ham have made it clear multiple times that they are not going to let their star man leave for anything less than £100m and the Gunners’ opening proposal falls way short of that figure. So, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Hammers accept this proposal or not.

Rice to Arsenal

Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have all been mentioned as potential suitors of the England international. But, it has been suggested that the Gunners are currently leading the race to purchase him this summer.

The midfielder’s desire to stay in London has handed Arsenal an advantage over their northern rivals to get a deal done for Rice at the end of this season.

Rice is a Premier League proven midfielder and in addition, he has already showcased his talent on the international stage. So, he would certainly be a great coup for Arsenal if they manage to secure his signature this summer.

It is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal manage to purchase Rice to strengthen their midfield department during the off-season.

Meanwhile, after enjoying a stellar campaign this term, Arsenal have fallen apart at the business end of this season and as a consequence of that, they have lost the league title to Manchester City.

Arsenal will now end the season disappointingly in the coming weekend when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium.
