Arsenal are reportedly ready to intensify efforts to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, as per the Italian outlet Tutto Juve.

The 28-year-old has been enjoying a productive campaign at the Allianz Stadium this season, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.

The midfielder played a key role for the French national team in the last year’s Qatar World Cup, helping his country in reaching the final before losing to Argentina on penalties.

Rabiot has entered the final four months of his current contract with the Bianconeri but hasn’t signed an extension yet. It has been suggested that the Frenchman is demanding a big salary hike to sign a renewal, but the Italian giants aren’t prepared to accept his request.

So, talks regarding a new deal have stalled and it is increasingly likely that the midfielder will leave Juventus at the end of this season. It seems Arsenal are looking to take advantage of this situation and sign Rabiot for free.

Rabiot to Arsenal

According to the report by Tutto Juve, Arsenal are plotting a summer swoop for the Juventus man and they are ‘ready to go on the offensive’ to lure Rabiot to north London at the end of this season.

The report also says that the France international is keen on playing in the Premier League and that will be a big boost for Arsenal to get this deal done this summer.

However, Tutto Juve claims that signing the 28-year-old won’t be easy for Arsenal as they are set to face tough competition from Manchester United, PSG and Newcastle United in purchasing Rabiot.

The Frenchman – valued at around £26m by Transfermarkt – is a dynamic midfielder, who prefers to play in the box-to-box role. He is technically sound, good in the air, can play threading passes between the lines, has an eye for scoring goals, works hard without possession and is also excellent in defensive contributions.

With Arsenal looking to strengthen their midfield department this summer, Rabiot would be a solid acquisition. In addition, he would be an ideal signing to support Granit Xhaka should he were to move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal decide to make a concrete approach to sign Rabiot if he eventually ends up leaving Allianz Stadium at the end of this season.
