Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal could reportedly demand Dusan Vlahovic in a swap deal should Juventus decide to intensify their efforts to sign Gabriel Magalhaes next summer, as per the Italian outlet Calciomercato.

The Gunners tried to purchase the Serbia international from Fiorentina at the beginning of this year when the forward was looking to find a new destination. However, in the end, the 22-year-old opted to join the Old Lady of Turin for a fee of around £65m last winter.

The youngster joined the record Italian champions off the back of a terrific last few campaigns with La Viola, scoring 37 goals and notching up five assists in 58 league appearances. However, the striker is yet to replicate the same performance at the Allianz Stadium since the switch.

A recent report stated that after failing to showcase his best form since his move to Juventus, the Bianconeri are considering cashing in on the stiker in the upcoming transfer window. And Arsenal have been mentioned as one of the potential suitors who are still showing interest in singing the highly-rated forward.

Meanwhile, according to the report by Calciomercato, Juventus are looking to reinforce their defence in the summer transfer window and Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes is one of the names who are on Massimiliano Allegri’s wishlist.

The report further claims that the Gunners could demand a fee of around £43m to sell the Brazilian or ask Vlahovic in a swap deal.

Dusan Vlahovic to Arsenal

If Arsenal can acquire the service of Vlahovic in the upcoming transfer window then that would be a great signing, but not at the expense of Gabriel Magalhaes.

The defender is one of the integral parts of Mikel Arteta’s first eleven and the Spanish boss would not want to lose his key first team member anytime soon.

The Emirates outfit just tied the 24-year-old down in a new long-term deal until 2027. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that Arsenal would be persuaded into selling Gabriel next summer unless a crazy bid is being offered.

The Gunners boss has rebuilt a squad over the last few years that is looking strong enough to compete at the highest level. So, he would want to be trying to strengthen his squad going forward rather than letting his best players leave.

So, I believe although Vlahovic would be a great addition to the Gunners’ squad, Arsenal would not want to purchase the talented forward at the cost of selling Magalhaes.
