Arsenal exploring the possibility of signing Palmeiras starlet Estevao Willian
Arsenal are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Palmeiras youngster Estevao Willian, as per Goal Brasil.
Following the appointment of Edu Gasper as the technical director, the Gunners have been keeping a close eye on the Brazilian market over the last few years and have signed Gabriel Martinell and Marquinhos in recent times.
Martinell has turned out to be an excellent acquisition and he has already established himself as an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s first eleven.
It seems Arsenal are once again moving forward to make a move for a new Brazilian wunderkind, known as Messinho. The 15-year-old is recognised by that nickname due to the similar playing style to Lionel Messi, a left-footed winger who likes to be deployed on the right.
According to the report by Goal Brasil, the youngster is yet to sign a professional contract with Palmeiras but he has already started to attract attention from big European giants like PSG, Barcelona and Arsenal.

The report further claims that the north London club have already made contact with the player’s representatives in order to understand his current situation. The 15-year-old won’t be eligible to play abroad until he turns 18 due to international rules. Therefore, Arteta’s side are looking to monitor the youngster’s development over the next few years.
The report also says that Arsenal have another option – which is to purchase the player now and let him stay at Palmeiras until he turns 18 when he will be eligible to play for a European club.
Previously Fabrizio Romano stated that PSG offered a £30m fee to sign Estevao this January but Palmeiras turned down that offer and decided to keep hold of their starlet.

It appears Arsenal might need to offer a higher fee than the reported sum in order to persuade the Brazilian side in selling the South American this winter. So, it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal make a concrete approach to sign the winger next month.
The Palmeiras man has widely been touted as one of the hottest prospects in world football at the moment and Arteta’s side should not give up on an opportunity of signing a talent like him if the forward becomes available.
