Arsenal likely to ‘hijack any possible deal’ for Mohammed Kudus
Arsenal are reportedly planning to ‘hijack’ a deal for Ajax star Mohammed Kudus in the upcoming transfer window, as per the Ghanasoccernet.
The Gunners appear to be keen on strengthening their squad in the January window. They have already been linked with several players, with the 22-year-old emerging as a new potential target in recent weeks.
An earlier report stated that Mikel Arteta’s side have already made contact with Ajax to discuss a deal for the Ghanaian after being impressed by the youngster’s performances, for the club and country, so far this term.
The report also said that Arsenal would be needed to offer a fee of around £30m in order to persuade the Eredivisie giants in selling Kudas. The Emirates club are expected to face tough competition to get his signature as other Premier League rivals are also lining up a move for him.
Meanwhile, according to the report by Ghanasoccernet, Arsenal are likely to ‘hijack any possible deal’ for Kudus in the upcoming transfer window with the north London club looking to utilise Thomas Partey in luring his compatriot to the Emirates Stadium.
Mohammed Kudus to Arsenal
Ajax sold quite a few players during the last transfer window and they might not want to lose any more in January. Kudus still has two and a half years left in his current contract, so Alfred Schreuder’s side won’t be in any rush to sell Kudas.
However, the Netherlands giants have shown multiple times in the past that they are a selling club and if their asking price for a player is met, then they are open to cashing-in.
So, there is a very good chance that Arsenal would be able to broker a deal for Kudus this January if they formalise their interest. As the reported £30m fee should not be an issue for Arteta’s side to get this deal done.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal make an attempt to sign Kudus this winter. The youngster is versatile and can play in different positions in the attacking third, so he would certainly be an excellent acquisition for the Emirates outfit.
